Her cleverness earns the jealousy of her teachers, Windbag Wartnose and Morag the Hag, and they sabotage her. As the two cackle in the shadows of the witch lab, both are gobbled up by a monster (another student's project gone awry). Nesta releases the teachers to help clean up, but not without a warning--next time she might make a mistake "too big for a little witch to fix."

pudding - you can still see the steam if you look closely! But why would you
want a witch at Christmas? Hey presto, with a little computer wizardry we have
the perfect Halloween card!

I was also very tempted to use the Halloween litany you started with - I think its brilliant - but I had a feeling you were going to chose it as you put it in a comment on another blog a little while ago. Its Scottish I think - pity the person who wrote it seems to be lost in the mists of time.

Hi Sharon, that was very observant of you! I’ve always associated ‘long-leggedy beasties’ with Cornish pixies and pasties, but that was before I started trying to research it. I’ve come to the conclusion it could be Scottish or Welsh or as mentioned in the Oxford dictionary of quotes anonymous Cornish! I don’t think anyone really knows, but the words are perfect for Halloween, and I think you should use them.

There is a fair bit of trick or treating at this time of the year, plus a few Halloween Balls and that kind of thing. We always make sure we have lots of sweets and other treats available for anyone who comes knocking on the door. I just love to see the little one’s all dressed up in their Halloween costumes. How about you – do you celebrate?

I have to say, from following your blog I so want to start a collection of collectible children's books. I can't believe someone thought up 'Dracula's Bedtime Stories'. You know, it's too bad adult books can't have these fun covers.
