Trick or Treating in Australia

It's been a while since I shared any photographs of my granddaughters but fear not I have lots!! First a little trick or treating;

Whoops! A little costume readjustment might be in order Zoe.

Ah, there you are my pretty!

Where there is one witch, there must be two...
and here is Lilly right on cue...

Mix them up, add some more.
Hocus-pocus, now they are four (behind you!)

Beware!! Enter at your own risk...

Hah! Zoe is more than a match for you …

Phew I'm glad to be out of there, but wait for me these treats are getting heavy.

I know there are some scary creatures in Oz, but Vampire Dogs are too much for me, run!

Enough of scary things … Obliviate!  (With thanks to Harry Potter!)  Now for a few pics of my granddaughters returned to their charming selves.

Just look at those sunnies

  2. Delightful!
Had several in similar attire round here last night, none on broomsticks fortunately. Though I fancy one or two tried flying when I gave a raucous blast on a bugle. Great fun, I should get some commission from the local dentists too what with all the toffees I handed out. Nice one again Barbara. John

  4. Ah! That's fantastic...! :).
And, the dog looks as though he's ready to
take off...waiting for a good 'lead' l expect!

I must confess! And, it's no secret..l love dressing
up...always have, my Dad used to..to! He was never
arrested for it..No! No! Seriously though, dressing
up is such fun, though, some people think l still do!
    But..As l always say...
"Every street is a Catwalk". :).

Once again..They look great, you and Terry must be very
proud, their lovely...Mentioned my fairy outfit once before,
well, it's similar to the one Lilly has on..But, l have wings
with mine..and a wand! Never do things by halves! HeHe!

So there we go...both a trick and a treat...!!! :0).
    Thankyou for sharing Barbara...! Excellent!!!

    1. Hi Willie, I just loved seeing the dog dressed in his Halloween wings and liked your joke about the lead!

Our daughter-in-law did a brilliant job with the face painting; she is very talented like that. Maybe you should get your face painted next time you dress up – or do you do that yourself?? I guess you are a dab hand with a makeup brush after being on the stage.

We are very proud of the girls and our grandsons too. The ‘boys’ are in their twenties now and don’t take kindly to me sharing too many pictures of them, so I have to be content with sharing ones of Zoe and Lilly. xx

PS Don’t tell Lilly about your wings and wand or she will want them too. :-)

    2. Made the outfit myself...! :).
The wand..well..l took a rod off my daughters
Wendy house..covered it in tin foil..cut out a
star and covered it with tin foil, stuck it at
one end, at the other end, l poured glitter,
when the tube was full, l sealed the end up!
Brilliant! So..when l waved the wand, a stream
      of glitter would leave a trail..Weeeeeeeee!!! :0).
HeHe! The wings l made out of a couple of metal
coat hangers...! Covered in netting! I did'nt even
      get into a 'flap'! :).

And..make up..yep! wearing it since the age of five..
Not long after..l was doing it myself..! But! That's
      another story! :0).

    3. Willie, the wand idea is inspired! I’m going to pass that tip on to my daughter-in-law. The girls would love that. :-)

  5. Oh my goodness- Zoe and Lilly are little beauties- they must "take after" their Grandmother Barbara! I did not realise they were so far away in Australia! Thank you for sharing so many lovely photos. Adorable!

    1. Thank you Colleen, they are beautiful little girls in both ways and looks. It is sad they live on the other side of the world, but we do get to see them. We also have two grown-up grandsons in England so it makes it a little easier. Our Australian family spent five weeks with us over Christmas and the New Year which was wonderful. We are now saving in the hope we can go and see them in 2018. The Internet also keeps us in touch, and we see lots of photos, so all good.
It is very kind of you to say the girls take after me, but I don’t think I was every that beautiful! On the other hand, their mummy and daddy (our son) are both very good looking, so I guess it comes from them!

    1. Silly me I took them for bat wings! Mind you, I’m not sure I could bring myself to put dog and devil together in the same sentence (I’m a bit of a dog nut)

  8. Looked like great fun in Oz. and what a pretty dog. The girls make lovely witches. I gather the kids were out in Oakley ( no eggs thrown this year!), but we did not have anyone at our door. xxx

    1. Hi Sue, it really did look like fun. It was as quiet as the grave around here last night (pardon the pun). We have l of sweets and other goodies to eat now, so not all bad. :-)

  10. Aww they're SO adorable!!! We didn't get a single trick-or-treater last night. We didn't have them last year, either--I kinda knew they don't come to this area. We're on a main street with houses too spread out. Kids now go to areas where there are lots of houses all together. But I bought candy just in case, so now I have tons of chocolate!

  11. Thanks Stephanie. We didn’t get a single trick-or-treater either which is sad because they used to come every year. Oh well, more sweets for us!

  12. Barbara , I missed this post completely this morning! How adorable these babies are! You must miss them being so far away from them! When do you see them again?

I hope your Halloween was a lovely time. It was quiet here!

    1. Hello Anita,
It was quiet here too, but we made the best of it by eating the sweets intended for the trick or treaters!

We do miss the girls and their mummy and daddy, but we are working towards a visit in 2018. It is a long trip, so we hope to stay for several weeks. Hence we need to do some serious saving in the next twelve months. It is good to have something to look forward to.

      Hugs Barbara

  17. They are just adorable, Barbara! Love seeing the Halloween costumes. Such fun face paint! And they are just beautiful in their dancing attire. :) So sweet!

  18. Hello Stephanie, my daughter in law Karen (the girls mum) does all the face painting. She is very artistic so it sort of comes naturally to her. The girls are adorable aren’t they? We are very lucky to have them in our lives..

  19. Oh, so pretty, and so scary! They've grown so much, these adorable two. Karen did a fabulous job with their costumes and face painting. I hope they enjoyed their treats? FROZEN must be one of the most successful animations ever. My Olive is crazy about Anna and Elsa, and her sister, Taylor (just 1.5) can say and identify "Anna" as well.

    1. The girls are mad about Frozen and were super excited when we went to see the live show at Disneyland Paris last year. How sweet that Taylor can identify Anna. I have to say she is my favourite, although I wouldn’t tell the girls that because one of them likes Anna and the other Elsa, and I can’t show any favouritism. :-)
