Further to last weeks post about Enid Blyton did anyone see Matt Baker and the Country File team on their visit to the Isle of Purbeck? I missed it completely!
Matt Baker, together with three local children and a dog called Taz played the parts of the Famous Five characters Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the dog. The five took a trip on a steam train to
Reading about the Country File programme reminded me that
the Famous Five adventure trail is taking place until the 5th November 2012. The
trail is set around places that Enid Blyton knew well including Corfe Castle,
the Swanage Railway and the Victorian Pier in Swanage. In keeping with the late
author's books, fans follow six clues to solve a mystery. Read more at The Ginger Pop Shops website

I would love to watch this and walk the adventure trail. Wow!

ReplyDeleteYes, we knew the sun was out and it was warmer because all the weather forcasters here keep us abreast of England's weather a la the Olympics.
I've read some of her work and loved it. What a wonderful adventure trip idea!
ReplyDeleteI always find the timing of some things amazing - you did a post on Enid Blyton and then there is a complimentary TV show - sometimes it is as if everything is connected with invisible threads. I'd love to go on the FF adventure trail - sounds like loads of fun. Looking forward to seeing the new site. You seem to have the same effect on the weather that I do - decide to do something inside and guaranteed the sun will shine!

How fun that there is a trail to go along with the books. I love things like that and it makes me want to read her books even more. I would love to follow a trail that goes with a book.

I bet fans will have a field day trying to solve the mystery with 6 clues. It sousds like a fun book adventure. I love it! I can't wait to read one of her books. Hope it isn't too hot working on the new site. :) Good luck!

ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying the Olympics. We are watching as much of it as we can on TV, and will be going for a visit on the last Friday. We want to see the Olympic village and feel part of it, if only for a day.

Hi Darlene, How lucky are you? Perhaps I could borrow your brother for a little while? Terry (my husband) is much better at these things than I am, so we are muddling along together! It sounds as though we are doing wonderfully inventive things, but that’s not really the case. The basis of the site was set up for us, now we just have to make it do what we want it to do.
