Ibooknet member Barbara of March House Books has had her book blog listed in Tesco's Top 10 kids' book blogs.
Of Barbara's blog they say:
This beautiful blog is brimming with stunning illustrations that make it easy to lose an hour scrolling through. Bobby, the blogger, is a book dealer who specialises in vintage illustrations. She treats us to the gorgeous images from 1920s tales of little girls going to finishing school or exerts from Cecil Aldin’s 1905 “A Gay Dog”.
We're not surprised as March House Books Blog is one of the prettiest blogs around. Also listed are the inspirational Playing by the Book and An Awfully Big Blog Adventure, which is the joint effort of some wonderful children's authors.
Ibooknet or The Independent Booksellers’ Network, is a co-operative of British and Irish sellers of used, collectable and rare books. Catherine Hawley, a member of Ibooknet and author of the above post, sells rare, used and out-of-print books to academics, libraries and collectors at CL Hawley Books. Catherine's blog is Juxtabook and you can find her on Twitter at @Juxtabook
How wonderful Barbara and very well deserved! Getting into the Tesco Top 10 is brilliant. Your blog is absolutely fabulous - I've loved visiting ever since I first found it and each of your posts is like getting a very special treat. I must have a look at the Ibooknet blog - it sounds interesting too. Is Bobby a nickname or did they slip up there? Never mind if they did, what they have to say about your blog is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon you do say the nicest things! I knew about the Tesco Top 10 list a couple of months ago but only just found the post on ibooknet. I was pretty thrilled at the time and reading about it again on ibooknet was like getting another pat on the back! Bobby is my nickname – I’m not sure where Tesco’s found it – I must have included it somewhere, and they picked up on it. As I’ve got older, my nickname has got shorter, and I’m mostly known as Bob now!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a well deserved mention. Yours has always been a beautiful blog. I only wish my daughter were a few years younger then I could pretend that I was buying the books for her.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roger.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is great. And, your site, as always, is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's brilliant! Well done! Much deserved :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Melinda, what a lovely thing to say!
ReplyDeleteThank’s Nikki-ann, I’m pretty chuffed! Excuse my less than perfect use of the English language but I’m sure you know what I mean!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Barbara, ditto to every nice comment that was made about your blog.
ReplyDeleteI just love looking at all the beautiful illustrations. I quite often come across your blog and website when searching for books on Google. You really do a wonderful job with your blog and deserve all the credit and lovely comments you receive.
Hi Barbara, congratulations! Your blog is truly deserving of this honor! Trying to catch up on your posts, as Google somehow dropped your blog from my list. Added you to my Google Reader, so hope it will update your posts.
ReplyDeleteWow! How wonderful! Congratulations - so well-deserved.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle (I know it's you!), thank you so much, that’s a lovely thing to say. I was looking for something online the other day (can’t remember what) and came across your blog so it’s nice to know they are both getting found.
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane, It did give me a warm fuzzy feeling when I found out. I’ve given up trying to keep up with all my favourite blogs on Google lists – I’ve started an excel spreadsheet! Not sure it will prove anymore successful, but I will try it for a while. I hate missing out on my favourite blogs. Thanks for calling in.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donna, it did make my day!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Barbara! I agree with what they wrote about your delighful blog and website/ I always love looking at the books you find and your posts are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie! I appreciate your comment very much.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the mention, Barbara (or, Bob?)! Your blog is really beautiful, and one wouldn't mind getting lost here. So many fairies and creatures! So many children on different adventures!
ReplyDeleteThank you Claudine! I was Christened Barbara but my mum and dad always called me Bobbie. As I got older, my name got shorter so now I’m mostly Bob!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Barbara and very well deserved. I love com9ing for a nosey round here, such beautiful books and illustrations. It's a really cosy place to be! x
