Good morning Barbara!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic collection of the most BEAUTIFUL childrens' books! I have never seen so many all in one place. Even Kate and Nash's Much Ado About Nothing shoppe in Marblehead, they had super books, but not this many all together!
What I love and have noticed is that back in this era,the dog of choice in many of the drawings is my favorite of all time: the fox terrier. And my favorite cover here is, "An Apple for the King." JUST DELIGHTFUL!
Happy day my friend, Anita
Dear Anita, you are often my very first visitor when a new post appears. Thank you for that and for all your lovely comments. You are absolutely right about the little Fox Terriers they appear over and over again. Maybe they were ‘fashionable’ at the time. I don’t like to think of dogs in terms of fashion, but they like many other things do go in out of popularity. I don’t know very much about Fox Terriers, but I can safely say Cairn Terriers are the most beautiful, loving little dogs. I hope the sun is shining for you! xx
DeleteThose are lovely, Barbara! I particularly love the Morning Carol postcard - it's so beautiful and serene.
