Today I’m turning back the clock to 2012. We were in
Australia for Christmas, and it was such a privilege to decorate the tree with
our two little granddaughters. Zoe took tree decorating very seriously as you
will see in this series of photos. Lilly
enjoyed it too but more than anything she liked scooting around in her little
car scattering tinsel and baubles as she went. It was such a lovely Christmas
and one we will never forget.
Hang on a minute wouldn’t these look better on me?
OK perhaps not!
Nearly done but I do need to straighten these baubles.
What a lovely tree. How sweet, summer dress, bare feet, height of summer, and a Christmas Tree!

We have lovely memories of that Christmas. Our daughter-in-law has a large family, and we got to spend Christmas Day with them all. It was so much fun. xxx
DeleteAh! Bless! What a little 'pearl'...! :).
ReplyDeleteI suppose when you can reach the fairy..
your an adult..! :).
Have'nt had a tree since my daughter went
off to Uni..some 22yrs ago, but, still put
up the crib..same crib l had as a wee boy!
Wee! I suppose l was once, l always thought
l was born 6ft 3in..HeHe!
I did look up, on how to decorate a Christmas
Tree....
1)The first step in how to decorate a Christmas
tree is adding the lights. ...
1)Add Christmas Tree Garland. ...
3)Hang Christmas Tree Ornaments.
(Do they think people are thick..or what)..!
I thought this was interesting....
In America, many families put up their tree the
week before Thanksgiving – the fourth Thursday
of November. In many places, people put their
trees up at the beginning of Advent – the fourth
Sunday before Christmas. In Australia, the tree
is usually put up on December 1, about a week
before the school summer holidays....!
Some jokes please..
Knock Knock! Who's there? Mary and Abby! Mary and Abby who?
Mary Christmas and a Abby new year.
The 4 stages of life:
1)You believe in Santa Claus
2)You don't believe in Santa Claus
3)You dress up as Santa Claus
4)You look like Santa Claus...
oooO! Nearly forgot...Love that Elephant
on the cupboard there....! Nice that! :0).
Hi Willie, would you believe Zoe (the little pearl) is seven next year. Lilly is five now and soon to start school. I don’t know where the years have gone. I like that elephant too I must ask Karen where it came from.
DeleteYou found some interesting facts but does anyone really need to be told how to decorate a Christmas tree? How very strange!
Hope you had a good day out yesterday. Yeovil was very festive and very busy.
Knock, knock!
Who’s there?
Donut.
Donut who?
Donut open until Christmas!
HeHe! Yes! Great day...spent a bit of money,
Deletethough stole most of it..I was abused a few
times..but, then the way l dress, it's to be
expected...I~LOVE~IT....! :).
But! Then! I'm quite well know in Poole!
I just had a peek over at Julies post, and she
mentions candles in Victorian times, when l was
a boy, we had candles on the tree..little red
ones in silver holders that clipped onto the
branch..Goodness! You won't dream of doing it
to~day...! :(.
I remember....I used to get a Christmas stocking
every year...Colouring book,a toy, and an orange!
As l got older, l used to think, ‘when am l gonna
get a one, with a leg in it’. :).
But, that’s another story! :0).
You make my trip to Yeovil sound positively dull! I didn’t steel anything, and I didn’t get abused. I must be going wrong somewhere!
DeleteWe had little electric candles like that but never the real thing. You are lucky to be alive!
My sister, brother and I all had stockings like that – and to my knowledge, none of them had legs in, although I can’t speak for my brother. :-)
What lovely memories and photos, they are really something to treasure. No bare feet here at Christmas! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOr here Valerie, more likely slippers and warm socks! Hugs Barbara
DeleteDo you know, that I can see YOU in her? She is precious, and for a minute there, it looked as if SHE was going to be decorated! Anything can happen when a child takes over the tree! Happy days to you dear Barbara!

DeleteThat’s lovely Anita! People have said that in the past, and of course I like to think she looks a little like me, but she is definitely prettier. :0)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...Enjoy! x
What an adorable young lady! I love how the little ones remind us so gently of the meaning of the holiday spirit. The tree is fantastic! Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteThank you RO, of course we think she is adorable because she is our granddaughter, but it’s nice to hear it from other people too. Hugs.
DeleteOh, your little pearly girl is the sweetest thing ever. This is a Christmas card in itself!
ReplyDeleteBless you Jeanie that is so kind of you.
DeleteShe's a sweet little helper and seems to have done a great job. :)
ReplyDeleteShe loved doing it but she did have a little help from her mummy and nanny! :)
DeleteEnchanting photos! A real live Christmas fairy!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is certainly our little Christmas fairy.
DeleteWhat a beautiful set of photographs. Christmas is all about children. Shame they have to grow up.
ReplyDeleteChristmas really is all about children, and once they are grown it is never the same. Hence we are trying to make memories while the girls are small, but it is not always easy when they are so far away.
DeleteEven as a stranger these photos melt my heart. They must have yours in puddles on the floor.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!
DeleteI am so sorry I missed this beautiful post. Your granddaughter is gorgeous and she looks like she was having the time of her life helping to decorate that tree. What a fabulous tree and adorable child. I can tell how proud of her you are.
ReplyDeleteWe are so proud of Zoe and our other three beautiful grandchildren and feel very blessed. Thanks for visiting and leaving such a lovely comment. x
DeleteAww bless...I've had to smile watching my 19yo son and his 16yo cousin decorate the tree at my parents...they were accompanied by a house style music play list on his mobile...not a Christmas tune to be heard!
ReplyDeleteArilx
That must have been so much fun for all concerned. It made me smile just thinking about it. x
DeleteOh what dear photos Barbara :D)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! x
DeleteWhat wonderful memories! Love the pictures! <3
ReplyDeleteAll the more precious as we see so little of them. x
DeleteI bet she's almost tall enough now to put the angel/fairy on top of the tree. Delightful photos!
ReplyDeleteLooking at recent photos I have a feeling she is almost as tall as me – or maybe even taller! It will be fun finding out when we see them next year. Lilly’s nickname is Lilly Long Longs, and she isn’t as tall as Zoe. :0)
DeletePriceless! So beautiful! What a happy memory! I am so enjoying these posts Barbara! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me very happy to know you are enjoying the posts, thank you! xx
DeleteNot seen these photos before, just gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI don't think we shared them at the time because we just had so many. Perfect for this post though. xxx
DeleteMemories are so precious.
ReplyDeleteLovely post.
All the best Jan
You are absolutely right Jan! Thanks for coming over. Barbara
DeleteWhat a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteWe think so. x
