If you’ve been reading my Happy Ever After posts, you will know the happy ending I was hoping for hasn't quite worked out;
This is what it's all about;
and this is what happened to it;
After a seven-month trip around the world, it arrived back in Somerset and worse still, after numerous attempts, I've been unable to contact the winner. So the names of the lovely folk who commented on the original post...Vanessa, Donna, Eve, Claudine, Sharon , Peggy, Jess, Alex, Yvonne, Darlene and Amy were put into a hat. Terry drew out a name, and the winner is……
Congratulations Sharon!
Congratulations Sharon!
At last eh! Congratulations, hope all goes well with it. Can we expect some more photos such as the lovely lady with the camera?
ReplyDeleteWhat ever Best Wishes..........
Big day next Sunday too.............Gosh
I think it looks great, Barbara: clearer and brighter. I didn't have any issue with purchasing books through the previous site, so I don't think there'll be glitches to this one. Congrats on the re-launch!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats to Sharon for winning the well-travelled embroidery thread!
Barbara, I am so sorry this happened. I did send her a message, but never heard back from her. Well, congratulations to Sharon! How fun!
ReplyDeleteYour new site is perfect. I love the colors and the way it's set up.
Thanks Percival, it did take a while and there are a still a few tweaks being done in the background, but I’m pleased with the way it looks.
ReplyDeleteWhat lady was that then? You can’t be referring to this old lady can you?
Rather too big a day for my liking – 46 would be better!
Thank you Claudine, I’m glad you like it. My sister was worried about the colours being too bright, so it’s nice to have another opinion.
ReplyDeleteI just hope the embroidery pattern, and thread are still in good condition inside the envelope – I might have to open it and check before sending on to Sharon.
Thank you for trying Donna. I’m sad too as Ao Bibliphile did sounded so keen on having them. Never mind, I’m sure Sharon will enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI’m so glad you like my new site that means a lot.
Thank you Barbara - that is so exciting!! What a lovely surprise - I'm so thrilled to have won.
ReplyDeleteI spent some time having a look at your new site. It is really good and the response time is as fast as you say. Of course one of the first links I decided to look at was Arthur Rackham - I'll say no more except that I wish the lotto win I keep dreaming about would actually happen! The only thing I couldn't get right was signing up to your newsletter - let me know what I am supposed to do - I tried entering an email address but don't think it did anything.
I'll email you my postal address - after a looong day at work you have made my evening!
Yes! Me thinks you should forget the old, you come across as young at heart, bubbly and are very refreshing.
ReplyDeleteOh! Try 07..........youngster..........
How adorable and congratulations Sharon. I didn't know I was in the running but I'm glad it at least came back safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteYour new website looks fabulous! It is bright and cheerful and easy to find things. So happy that you have found a good home for the embroidery kit. Congratulations Sharon, I know you will have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, I’m really happy you won – the much travelled embroidery pattern will be on the way on Tuesday 21st August. I’m keeping my fingers, and toes crossed that it arrives!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting my site and for telling me about the problem with the newsletter link, I’ve obviously done something wrong. I really appreciate you taking the time to have a look around. It's so easy to miss things like that.
I’ve all but given up buying anything by Arthur Rackham; they are so pricey. The last three or four I’ve found have all been from auctions, and auction prices are one thing that continues to (sadly) climb.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Sharon! So sorry it wasn't able to be united with the original winner- but I think it is great for Sharon. :) The new site looks fantastic! Very well organized. Good idea to keep the other one up and running for a bit.
ReplyDeleteBy the way- I am so glad I am able to comment today. I have been coming by your blog daily for the past week and the comment area would not let me comment. It said my browser was too old (which it shouldn't be). Hoping it has worked itself out finally.
Hi Barbara,
ReplyDeleteChecked out your new website...Looks colourful and nice. Great artwork !
Cheers !
Carolyn Chang - Malaysia
Hello Carolyn, Thanks so much for taking the time to have a look at the site. The debit/credit card facility is available on the news site so ordering should be easier. I'm still looking for the books you want. I have got some Famous Fives and Secret Seven's to list. Our grandson has just returned from Australia and is staying with us for a few days, but I should be back to work next week. I will let you know when they are available. Barbara.
ReplyDeleteHello Eve, you kindly commented on the first post so it was only fair to include you in the draw. I know Sharon is excited about winning so it did have a happy ending after all!
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie, it is a shame, but hopefully it will get to Sharon without further drama!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to look at the new site. All the comments, so far, have been positive so that's encouraging.
Thank you also for persevering with leaving a comment on my blog, it’s odd how that happens sometimes. The other thing I’ve noticed recently is that I leave a comment go back the next day to see if there is a reply, and my comment has disappeared.
Still looks good and seems to be going swell
ReplyDeleteDo read the bottom line as well
The new site is fantastic. Congratulations! I love that it's vibrant and easy to navigate.
ReplyDeleteHello Percy,
ReplyDeleteif you are referring to the bottom line of your previous comment I have read it. If you are referring to something else please explain further. Thanks Barbara
Well yes! I guess, in an odd way
ReplyDeleteSee the yorkshire post on your big day
That's most kind of you - I will watch for the postman.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara - I had a lovely surprise when I got home from work today - your package was waiting for me! It was so exciting getting something with the March House Books Hare on the envelope! The transfer is very pretty and the threads still look brand new. Now I need to get busy so I can show you the results!!
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, thanks for letting us know. Please don’t feel pressured into using it, it’s a gift to use as, when or how you like. It would even look nice framed – that way you wouldn't be able to use it!!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding!! My fingers are itching to start. I'm going to scan the original so I always have it but I want to use some of the different elements on different things - I'll tell you what I'm thinking another time!
ReplyDeleteGoody I was (secretly) hoping you might use it but didn’t want to say so in case you didn’t want to! I look forward to finding out more.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the new website, Barbara! And the colourful heading is fabulous. I think I'm going to be taking advantage of that discount soon, too -- maybe finally purchase a Pookie book.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sophie! The discount would certainly make Pookie more affordable – I think there are two in stock at the moment. Thanks again for your lovely comment.
