Things found in books - Happy Ever After - Update

Do you remember the post I did in February about finding this pretty embroidery transfer and skein of thread wrapped in tissue paper at the bottom of a box of books? I offered to send it to the first person who contacted me. That person was Ao Bibliophile.

I shipped the parcel on the 24th February and thought that was the end of the story but two weeks ago it was returned as undeliverable. It’s impossible to read the name and address on the parcel as someone at the Post Office has scrawled all over it with black marker pen. I’ve tried contacting Ao Bibliophile via her blog, by Kontactor.com and by email but all to no avail. I’ve just sent another email and will wait for 24 hours before doing anything further. If you know Ao Bibliophile please get her to contact me!

Several of you expressed an interest in owning these so after waiting 24 hours I will put your names in a hat and draw out a winner.

  1. Gosh Barbara - what a strange experience. I remember the post very well and how pretty I thought this was. I don't know Ao Bibliophile but I seem to remember that she was thrilled to win it. Curiouser and curiouser.

Hi Sharon (or should that be Alice?), it is curious! I’m at a bit of a loss because I can’t find Ao Bibliophile’s address, I know it was in the Philippines but that’s all I can remember. I archived the email thinking I wouldn't need it again, and I never did find out how those archives work! Even if I could find it, I’m not sure it would be sensible to re-send without first checking the address. The parcel looks as though it’s been around the world and back at least once – and taken its time about it!

Ao Bibliophile if you are reading this – please contact me. Barbara

  3. I am in a group with her. I'll try to contact her too. Too bad. It's a delightful little embroidery project.

Thanks Donna, I will wait a little longer before contacting the next person on the list.

  5. I remember this! I hope you are able to contact her- or one of the other people that wanted it. Amazing that it took so long to get the package back.

Hi Jess, I’ve done everything I can think of without success. Dona said she would also try so I’ve decided to hang on for a couple more days before offering it someone else.
It looks as though it went all over the place before arriving back with me, lucky it did really because I would hate it to be lost.

  7. All the way since February! WOW! I remember seeing the original post. I hope Donna can track her down. Otherwise- I guess it will go to the next lucky person. Thank goodness it was returned and not lost in mail limbo.

I really wish I could get it to her, but I’ve heard nothing at all so will wait until Monday (I was going to wait for 24 hours but that stretched to a week) and then put the other names in a hat. Watch this space – someone will be lucky!
