Buyagift Young Authors Competition 2013

Budding young authors up to the age of ten are invited to submit their own short story (400 words), which will be judged by an expert panel that includes the award-winning writer Giles Paley-Phillips and leading picture book blogger Emma O’Donovan

The theme is -The Unexpected Gift. The winning tale will be published, illustrated and printed into three limited-edition books for the winners to keep. Copies will also be sold on the Buyagift website with all profits going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The runner up will be awarded a children’s gift experience worth £100.00.

The Competition runs from the 3rd April until the 3rd June, and the winner will be announced by the end of June.

Full Rules and terms and conditions can be found on the buyagift website.

What child wouldn't want to see their words in print? I would certainly jump at the chance if I were just a few years younger!

Good Luck!

Disclosure: I was contacted by buyagift.co.uk and asked to feature this competition. I was not obliged or paid to do so.

  1. How exciting! I'm a little over the age limit, but I might write something about an unexpected gift anyway- what's more fun than that! Thanks for sharing- I will pass this on to our young readers. ~ Jess
