Advent Calendar Day 13: First Christmas Card Received in the Post

Not just a card but a card that looks like a book and pressies too...

Sent by our dear friends Nicole and Martin. You may recall me mentioning Nicole in previous posts but if not you can read about her here

Nicole is an author/illustrator. This short video features one of her delightful books, with music composed by Martin.

The first snowflakes flutter down and over a village shines a bright star.

I'm linking with Julie over at Julie's Scrapbook.

  2. That's a lovely card. I love unusual cards.

I once had a box that looked like a book which I passed onto a friend filled with chocolate! It confused my friend because she had never seen boxes like it, and she spent time looking for the title. My friend is a great reader too, so I new she would love the box. She still fills it with chocolate which she hides from her son and family when they visit.

    1. I’ve never seen a box like that Julie, but it sounds lovely. I laughed when I read about your friend hiding her chocolates – I’ve often been tempted to do that!
      Have a lovely day. xx

    1. I saw that card and thought of you Willie! ~smile~

It is a beautiful video, and the book is even nicer. Nicole tells the story in pictures with no words at all.

  4. The card is beautiful and that video---enchanting! What a talented couple they are. Your 'British' tablecloth is very cute, too. :)

    1. Hi Marcia, they are both incredibly talented, and I always look forward to seeing their latest projects.

The background is actually wrapping paper, although I rather wish it was a tablecloth. I do have a nice one ready for Christmas. Its red and covered in Christmas trees and baubles!

  5. I hang my head in shame - my cards are still sitting in the box unaddressed. I love the collage you have used here, especially the background paper. Have you read The Romance of a Christmas Card. And loved the video by Nicole. Thanks for sharing it.

    1. Hello Alex, I’ve not read The Romance of a Christmas Card, but I’ve found a couple of copies for sale online, and I’m thinking of treating myself! I might have to finish the Christmas shopping first though.
Thank you for your kind words about the collage and Nicole’s video.
